Constituency Assistant – MPP Aislinn Clancy, Kitchener Centre
Salary Range: $50,000 – $54,000 per annum
The Office of MPP Aislinn Clancy is seeking a highly organized and motivated Constituency Assistant to join our dedicated team in Kitchener Centre. This in-person role is based out of our constituency office in Downtown Kitchener and requires flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends to support community events and meetings.
This position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the community by supporting the MPP in her work representing constituents and advancing local initiatives. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about public service, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and eager to contribute as part of a small, collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
Scheduling & Community Engagement
- Manage the MPP’s schedule and coordinate meetings and events in Kitchener Centre
- Provide staffing support for the MPP at local meetings and community events
- Ensure follow-up communication and outreach resulting from MPP meetings
- Capture photography and video content at events, as needed
- Represent the MPP at community functions when required
Communications & Outreach
- Monitor local media and keep the MPP’s calendar and office informed
- Support communications and correspondence while the MPP is in the riding
- Create social media content for the MPP and maintaining digital presence when in riding
- Design and oversee print and promotional materials
- Coordinate monthly newsletters and other outreach tools
- Assist with event planning and community initiatives
Constituency Casework
- Respond to inquiries by phone, email, and in person
- Assist with constituent casework, liaising with government agencies and organizations
- Provide timely and compassionate support to residents seeking assistance
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in office administration, communications, political science, or a related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- Basic knowledge and understanding of equity and diversity frameworks
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly
- Flexibility to accommodate occasional evenings and weekends
- Collaborative approach and ability to thrive in a small team environment
- Tact, discretion, and professionalism in a political environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Canva, and social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
Assets
- Proficiency in French or other languages
- Previous experience in a constituency office or similar administrative role
- Knowledge of government relations processes
- Strong community connections in Kitchener Centre
